Shona Dictionary Search Guide

You have two glossaries to look up words from, an English word glossary, and a Shona word glossary. The English word glossary can be accessed by clicking on the 'Search in English' checkbox. To select the 'Search the Shona' checkbox to look up a Shona word.

• i.e. Type 'rudo' in the text box, then hit the 'Search in Shona' checkbox, the Shona word 'rudo' will be queried once you hit the search button.

The dictionary glossary only has word roots This means words in this glossary are not conjugated.

• i.e. English word my's root in Shona is angu; angu is conjugated by a set of noun class prefixes {ch, ..., zv}, i.e my could be {changu, ..., zvangu}.
• To translate sentences and conjugated words/phrases use the Shona Translator.
